It was with great sadness that we learnt of the passing of our beloved Queen last week. Our Chairman has today written to His Majesty The King on behalf of members to express our condolences at this time.
Many of us will have fond memories of Her late Majesty The Queen and we will come together soon to share these. We were fortunate to celebrate the Platinum Jubilee early this year and this gave us an opportunity to say one final thank you for a life of service to her country.
''It was an honour to be able to see Her Majesty on the balcony at Buckingham Palace during this year's Trooping of the Colour and it's a memory that will live with me forever.
I know I speak on behalf of all of my members when I say that we are very saddened and we send our thoughts to His Majesty The King and the Royal Family at this time.'' Ian Campbell, Branch Chairman.
Members gathered with the Staple Hill Salvation Army on Saturday to remember the late Queen and reflect on her life. Members will also have an opportunity to share their memories at the next branch gathering on the 7th of October where there will also be a guest speaker. Everyone is welcome.
