Why become a Youth Member?
Free Membership
Joining the Royal British Legion as a Youth Member is completely free, making it one of the most accessible ways to get involved in meaningful community work and personal development. As a young person, you can gain access to a nationally respected organisation without any financial burden. Free membership means you can participate in events, community projects, and youth activities while connecting with peers who share an interest in service, leadership, and remembrance. It’s a cost-free way to build experience, confidence, and a sense of purpose.
Amazing Opportunities
Being an RBL Youth Member opens the door to a wide range of unique experiences that you won’t find elsewhere. From representing your community at high-profile national events like the Festival of Remembrance or Remembrance Sunday at the Cenotaph, to engaging in fundraising and volunteering campaigns, you'll get to be part of something bigger than yourself. These activities develop real-world skills like teamwork, public speaking, and leadership qualities that will set you apart in school, university applications, and future careers.
Duke of Edinburgh
The Royal British Legion is a recognised provider of volunteering opportunities for the Duke of Edinburgh's Award (DofE), making it an excellent choice for young people working toward their Bronze, Silver, or Gold Award. As an RBL Youth Member, you can complete your volunteering section by participating in meaningful service that supports veterans, families, and local communities. Whether it's helping with poppy appeals, community outreach, or intergenerational projects, your time with the RBL counts towards a prestigious and rewarding qualification that is highly respected by universities and employers alike.
