Because of Covid restrictions, most local and national events were cancelled for Armed Forces Day, but the National Memorial Arboretum hosted an event so that the public could say thank you.
The Staple Hill and District branch hosted a coach trip for the event for members and local residents.
There were lots of events and things to see throughout the day, including a service of thanksgiving and of course the many memorials across the Arboretum.
We had a special flypast from the Red Arrows and the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight and we even got to see The Princess Royal!
The event was very safe and all of the event staff and the coach driver were fantastic!
Members are already looking forwards to going again next year.
