On the 20th of September 2020, members of the Staple Hill and District Branch of the Royal British Legion and the Staple Hill Women's Section came together for a short wreath-laying ceremony to remember the 80th anniversary of the Battle of Britain at the memorial in Page Park.
Branch chairman, Ian Campbell said ''it is important that we continue to remember those pilots, aircrew and groundcrew from the Royal Air Force and other allied air forces that fought in the Battle of Britain and secured our country from invasion. ''
''We would have liked to have invited the community and indeed our own branch members to join us to pay respects, but in order to follow government guidance and new laws, we sadly had to control numbers. Despite the current situation, we saw this simple gesture of remembrance important.''
