This public service will honour the bravery and sacrifice of those who served during the final stages of the Second World War and the pivotal aerial campaign that defended Britain in 1940. It will include music from the Salvation Army Band, readings, wreath laying, and the participation of veterans, local cadets, and community organisations.

Everyone is welcome to attend and pay their respects.

Chair of the Staple Hill & District RBL, Ian Campbell, said: “This service is a chance for our community to come together and remember the extraordinary sacrifices made during two defining moments of our history. We’re proud to stand with our local Salvation Army to ensure these stories of service and resilience continue to be honoured.”
