With our Annual General Meeting (AGM) approaching, we thought it would be a good time to talk about something that is really important to the future of Staple Hill and District branch of the Royal British Legion – getting more of our members involved.

Our Branch is here to support veterans, their families and the wider Armed Forces community, while also bringing people together through commemorations, social events and other activities in our local area. None of this happens without the time, commitment and enthusiasm of the people who volunteer to make it happen.
That is why we are always keen to hear from members who might consider joining our Branch committee.
You don't have to be an expert!
Perhaps you've never been involved with a committee before, or you're wondering what you could contribute. The good news is that you don't need any special experience or qualifications.
Our committee is made up of people with different backgrounds, interests and skills. Whether you enjoy organising events, meeting people, helping with administration, fundraising, communications – or simply want to lend a hand and support the Branch – there is a role for you.
Being part of the committee is also a great way to meet other people, make new friends and have a say in the direction of your local Branch.
Most importantly, you can make a genuine difference. Even giving a little of your time can help us continue the work we do for our members and the Armed Forces community.

Come along and find out more
Our AGM is a great opportunity to hear about what the Branch has been doing over the past year, find out about our plans for the future and meet the people involved.
If you've ever thought about becoming more involved but weren't sure where to start, why not come along and have a chat with us? There is no obligation, we'd simply love to hear from you.
The future of Staple Hill and District RBL depends on people willing to step forward and play their part. We hope you might be one of them.
Our AGM takes place on Friday 02 October 2026 at 7.30pm at the Page Community Association.
We look forward to seeing you there, and hopefully welcoming some new faces to the committee!
